Myelin is a substance that surrounds nerve cells in the body, facilitating the transmission of nerve impulses between neurons. If the integrity of the myelin nerve cells “is in danger, the transmission of nerve impulses between neurons is disrupted, causing severe neurological dysfunction.
Multiple sclerosis primarily affects the body’s ability to respond quickly to external stimuli (sensory function), reduces the mobility of the musculoskeletal system (motor function) and reduced mental performance (cognitive function).
